Yellow Seed Bamboo Nursery is proud to have become one of Maui's main suppliers of non-invasive clumping bamboo.

Bamboo is a hardy plant that grows back within a year of harvesting and emits more oxygen than any other plant in the world.

Some species of bamboo are as strong as steel. Bamboo has been used for thousands of years in Asia for housing, furniture and food.

Hawaii’s subtropical climate and rich soil make it an ideal place to grow bamboo for its shoots, timber and everything else it has to offer.

Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plant in the world, making it an excellent choice for privacy barriers and windbreaks

With an emphasis on sustainable agriculture, Yellow Seed Bamboo Nursery is a perfect place to come for a tour of the bamboo in addition to checking out our small-scale beneficial food plantings. Additionally, we now provide worm castings and treated Guadua Bamboo Poles.

We use Absolutely NO chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
We propagate on Maui from about 35 different species.
Several different propagation methods are used.
Each potted plant is covered with a thick layer of wood chips to feed and protect the microbial life in the soil.
We use a potting soil mix composed of:
      - 50% compost
      - 50% cinder
     - A blend of minerals to ensure a healthy start
for your plants.
